Profile

Originally from Canada, Kimberley's riding has taken her to many great opportunities, including working for Ian Millar (Grand Prix Show Jumper and seven-time Canadian Olympian) before discovering dressage. Under the guidance of Gary VanderPloeg (Canadian Level 3 dressage coach and former World Cup Rider) she quickly adapted to her new discipline, learning to work horses in hand as well as under saddle in all the upper-level movements. As Mr. VanderPloeg’s working student, she had the opportunity to ride several Grand Prix-level horses on a daily basis as well as schooling up-and-coming international horses.

Kimberley has also been to Denmark, Germany and Holland to clinic, train and study upper level dressage.

Kimberley has competed successfully in dressage levels up to FEI Intermediare 1, and has schooled several horses at Grand Prix level. She is fully knowledgable in teaching horses upper level and haute ecole movements. Kimberley also has experience in trick training, including movements such as spanish walk, bowing, rearing, sitting and laying down!

Kimberley's intuitive nature with horses is a great asset to her philosophy that correct schooling on the flat is the foundation to success. Kimberley's varied experiences in the horse world have led to an adaptable attitude, conforming her methods to each individual horse instead of insisting that horses conform to her methods.
